FIUTS goes to Mariner's Game - May 10th, 2024

Spend a lovely evening with FIUTS watching baseball as the Seattle Mariners take on the Oakland A's.

Date: Friday, May 10th

Meeting Time & Place: 5:30pm at U District Light Rail Station (43rd St. entrance)

Cost: $10
Who: All university/college students, FIUTS friends, scholars, and community members - ALL ARE WELCOME!
What to bring: Orca card for transportation and some money for snacks and drinks. Be aware stadium prices are higher than you would expect!

Spirit of Africa

Spirit of Africa will take place on May 11, 2024 at the Armory Food & Event Hall. The festival is part of the Seattle Center Festál series. It is free and open to the public. The festival presents traditional and contemporary music, a fashion show, art, food, marketplace, dance workshops, and more!

Meet at U-District Light Rail Station at 12:00pm.

Cat Yoga

What to bring: A yoga mat (if you own one, if not, Meowtropolitan Cafe has some to lend out), comfortable clothes suitable for stretching, water bottle, and your love for cats!

Farmer’s Markets are an integral part of Seattle culture. Fremont’s and Ballard’s Sunday market are two of the biggest and best in the city! Explore all the fresh produce and local vendors, browse and shop an amazing selection of food trucks, handmade crafts, antiques, collectibles, vintage clothing, furniture and world imports.

FIUTS goes to Northwest Folklife Festival, May 25, 2024

Join FIUTS to celebrate one of the largest, multicultural, access-for-all festivals in the nation! This is the place to learn, dance, play, try something new, and to discover the arts and cultures that thrive in our Pacific Northwest communities.

Presenting more than 5,000 performers, the Festival draws from the 100+ cultural communities that Northwest Folklife collaborates with year-round. The festival is more than a celebration of the diversity of the Pacific Northwest, it’s a chance to engage directly with the many communities that make up our region. The Northwest Folklife Festival is a key annual event bringing up to 250,000 people over four days to the Seattle Center.

FIUTS Covid-19 Advisory & Community Safety Regulations:
In alignment with the University of Washington's existing face covering policy and distancing requirements, FIUTS requires all participants to wear a mask for the duration of the event and maintain six feet of distance with others at all times, regardless of their vaccination status. Participants may only remove masks while actively eating or drinking.
